First Z Award Recipient--Lori Cleare chosen by Pat Osborne
I chose Lori for the first Z award because every task we asked of her she accepted without hesitation. We asked her to represent the newest members in our Anniversary Video, be Recording Secretary, become the First Vice President and to monitor our projects and programs. She said "yes".

I chose Ana [Vazao] to pass the Z Achievement Award on to because of her determination in advancing in her professional career. Ana taught first grade full time the last two years at HCE while attending classes evenings and weekends at St. Thomas Univ. The course work and research projects were grueling but her persistence in becoming an elementary counselor paid off as this year she accepted a counselor position at MDE. Ana also remained a valuable DKG sister during this two year process attending as many functions as possible. It was an honor to pass the Z Achievement Award this month to Ana to recognize her personal and professional celebrations.
November 2014 Z Award: Selecting Sandy [Schneider] as our “sister of the month” was simple. She exemplifies wonderful character traits that represent our chapter. I chose to write an acoustic poem to describe her inspiring self. Sandy is her name but Sandra had extra letters and gave me more of an opportunity to highlight this sensational woman. Sandy truly demonstrates our vision to educate, inspire and encourage. I am truly honored to call her a friend and sister. Sandy, thanks for all you! by Ana Vazao.
December 2014: It was so easy for me to choose Sharon as the recipient of the next Z Award. It was right after the Auction! The past two years, Sharon's spunk as an auctioneer has been a joy to watch and I am sure beefed up our bids! Sharon has also been very generous in offering her home several times for Zeta Tau parties and special occasions, which has added warmth to our gatherings. However, I began to appreciate and know what a special person she is when she served as First Vice President of our chapter. I could always depend on Sharon and, after all, isn't that just the best sister you could have? She is just so "Sharon"!
January 2015 Winner: I[Sharon] choose Beth Brown as the deserving recipient of the Z Achievement Award because of her continued dedication toward education and service to our chapter, Beth taught science for many years and physical education for special needs students. Although retired from education, she continues to volunteer her time to enhance joy and quality of life in her surrounding community. Beth is enthusiastic about her participation with our chapter, Zeta Tau. She is reliable and always willing to step up to meet the needs of our group.
February 2015: Martha [Meyer] is the acting administrator for a district program called Operation Graduation. She was honored as a T-2-4 Educator. She is working with administration to re-vamp summer school. She works with content leads to create data templates for the schools to use in analyzing their benchmarks. She is well rounded and works well with students, teachers and administrators. She is smart and friendly and has a sense of humor. She also stepped up to be our secretary which commits her to attending every meeting!
March 2015 Z Award Winner: Diana Apsey
Although only a member for one year, Diana took on the job of creating our website which was recently certified by DKG. She definitely believes the adage that when a member is asked, the answer is yes!
